Once Again: Read the Course Information handout. REQUIREMENTS: there will be five or six problem sets, two midterms, and a final exam. The midterms will be on Sep 28th and Nov 4th. The midterm will be in our usual room. THE FINAL EXAM IS ON DEC 10th, Friday. 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Venue: In Class, Love 0301 NOTE: there will be no makeups for either of the exams.
You should write all of your notes in latex. I will try to have a latex reference book on reserve in the library. You can use the program xfig to make your postscript figures. Before you begin scribing, you should talk to me to see if I already have notes handwritten or scribed. Here is a not so short introduction to Latex If your scribe notes are based on scribe notes from previous years, then make sure that you credit all previous scribes by putting their names in a footnote. Here is one sample scribing of lectures: sample1.tar. (To untar, type "tar -xvf sample1.tar".) Here is the template for scribing: template.tex.
